Sara P. D. Chrisman, MD, MPH
Associate Professor
Dr. Chrisman is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Adolescent Medicine. Her mission is to improve the health and well-being of adolescents, with a particular focus on interventions to improve the trajectory of illness and injury by addressing the psychosocial context. She has worked as a physician scientist for over a decade, funded by the NIH, NCAA, Pac-12 and CDC. She collaborates broadly with researchers across the country, and spends part of her time with the Sports Institute at UW Medicine developing an intervention to increase youth athlete resilience called "Mentally Strong." She is passionate about youth wellness and recovery and partnering with youth and families to empower them to achieve their goals.
