Professional Bio

M. Jake Petersen, MD, is a primary care sports medicine physician who specializes in the non-operative care of athletes with acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries, including fractures, concussions, overuse injuries, and return-to-play decision-making with additional clinical interests in sports cardiology and the cardiovascular evaluation of young athletes. His procedural expertise includes compartment pressure testing for chronic exertional compartment syndrome, diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, and ultrasound-guided procedures, including joint, tendon, and soft tissue injections and nerve hydrodissections. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, exploring the outdoors, playing sports, and finding new adventures together. He firmly believes the best adventures end with a stop for ice cream—and is always looking for his family's next favorite scoop.
